McHenry County Befogged

An actual unretouched screencap from McHenry County's #1 fakenews source, the McHenry County Blog:

Message of the Day – Social Distancing
Did the tiredout taxfighters at the McHenry County Blog catch, red-handed, members of the Illinois Congressional delegation flouting social distancing norms?

Judging from those winter coats and knowing Washington DC's subtropical climate, your LakeCountyEye guesses the photo was from around Jan. 4, 2019:

Rep. Cheri Bustos, second from left, joins House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, center, and fellow Illinois Democratic Reps. Robin Kelly, from left, Jan Schakowsky and Lauren Underwood at the Capitol on Jan. 4, 2019. Bustos has fared exceedingly well in Trump country.

Democrats, take note: Rep. Cheri Bustos shows how it's done

Q the Eye/04.25.20

Ὥρος Hōros
Dear LakeCountyEye,

Your pathetic blog is a total disgrace! You lie when you say President Donald J Trump issued these guidelines for beating the coronavirus:
Orange is the New Black Death
Is spray-on tan as effective as a face mask? A ridiculous lie and the dumb idea is not funny at all. What if one of the stupid morons read that and believed it? You would have blood on your hands!

I demand an absolute retraction! And to print all of President Donald J Trump's real guidelines for beating the coronavirus in November:
  • Bathe in Ultraviolet Light
  • Internally Bathe in Ultraviolet Light
  • Vigorously Wash with Disinfectant
  • Inject Disinfectant
It is because of fakenews losers like you that America is not great again!

John Barron
Dear @realDonaldTrump,

Sorry, this blog does not accept unsolicited submissions.

The Hills Have Eyes

You gotta fight for your right to party.
Sick and tired of the man telling you how to live your life? Then head over to the land of the free, aka Barrington Hills:
A community low in legislation and high in property rights, Barrington Hills residents can indulge their passions and interests at home.
Barrington Hills is a Community Where Landowners Determine How They Enjoy Their Land
Barrington Hills is also the only local Chicagoland community where a resident can apply to build a shooting range or a sporting clays course on their own property.
Large Properties Create Endless Possibilities
You may want to think twice, however, about discharging your guns on that Barrington Hills property:
Barrington Hills officials may seek reimbursement from a property owner, an online home rental service and others for police costs related to a fatal shooting last month during a house party they say violated village code.
Barrington Hills wants to recover costs from murder investigation
Do Barrington Hills residents indulge in their passions?  Or is the Village of Barrington Hills the boss of you?  Your LakeCountyEye asked Barrington Hills Mayor Martin McLaughlin.

Haha, j/k.

So, OK, how is the Village of Barrington Hills able to brand itself as a high-in-property-rights libertarian's paradise, all the while threatening to sue residents who violate their low-in-legislation village ordinances?

One knowledgeable observer explained it this way:  "Psych!"

Gift Horse

There is no truth to the rumor that a Russian bio-warfare lab developed COVID-19 to help the Trump Administration suppress the vote in the United States.  No, the GOP has been successful suppressing the vote the old fashioned way, by locking up voters.

In 2018, Lake County State's Attorney Michael Nerheim filed voter fraud charges against five Lake County voters:
"Through these investigations and prosecutions, we are hoping to send a message to the community that interfering with our election process, which is the core of our democracy, will not be tolerated," Nerheim said.

And as readers of this blog are aware ...
Home Court Advantage
Individuals who are registered to vote at a house owned by the Old Mill Creek Village President, voted there in 2019. Even though records indicate they reside in Lake Villa.

Are these voters being prosecuted by Michael Nerheim? Your LakeCountyEye checked the records:

Home Court Advantage

Rosebud.
A plague is ravaging Lake County, disrupting lives, and the voters want a remedy. Now.

Of course, by plague your LakeCountyEye means a plague of voter fraud:
Five Lake County residents face charges related to voter fraud stemming from the November 2016 election, authorities said.

Charges have been filed against voters in Beach Park, Mundelein, Riverwoods and Waukegan.  Lake County State's Attorney Michael Nerheim told the Daily Herald:
"Through these investigations and prosecutions, we are hoping to send a message to the community that interfering with our election process, which is the core of our democracy, will not be tolerated," Nerheim said.

But as readers of this blog are aware ...
Odd Bedfellows
there are other individuals, who are registered to vote at a house owned by the Old Mill Creek Village President even though records indicate they reside in Lake Villa. Why aren't they being investigated, let alone prosecuted, for casting 2019 ballots in Old Mill Creek?

One knowledgeable observer told your LakeCountyEye: "Oh come on, nobody commits voter fraud in Old Mill Creek."

Your LakeCountyEye will keep you apprised when further developments warrant.

Odd Bedfellows

Your LakeCountyEye
Who votes in an odd year election? Not your LakeCountyEye.

If you live in Old Mill Creek, however, you may have voted. Fewer than 175 people are registered to vote in the Village of Old Mill Creek. And around 40 of those voted in the 2019 election -- where Old mill Creek village clerk and trustees were on the ballot.

With an electorate that narrow, one vote would be worth 100s if not 1000s!

The three voters registered to vote at this address ...
38500 N Regis Hall Rd
Old Mill Creek, IL
all voted in 2019 -- and may have turned that election.

And as readers of this blog are aware ...
There's No Shelter in Place Like Home
one of those voters was the Old Mill Creek Village President. And (according to assessor's records) another one of those voters claims a principal residence homestead exemption on a home in Lake Villa.

Note to Ops:  That's how it is done, son.

There's No Shelter in Place Like Home

It has come to your LakeCountyEye's attention that Social Distancing is not a license to register to vote at one address but live at a different address.

The voters who live at this Lake Villa address, however, may have not gotten the memo:
If these voters seem familiar, they are the same lucky souls who registered to vote at this address in Old Mill Creek:
38500 N Regis Hall Rd
Old Mill Creek, IL
Which, as readers of this blog are aware ...
Shelter in a Place to Call Home
is owned by the Village President of Old Mill Creek.

Note to Ops: When you claim a Senior Homestead Exemption on a property, you sort of just attested that is your home address.

Just Sayin!

Shelter in a Place to Call Home

It has come to your LakeCountyEye's attention that Shelter-in-Place is not a license to live in your car. Who knew?

As chance would have it, you can drive over to Old Mill Creek where you may be welcome to register to vote. At least these two lucky voters were:

Both of these fortunate souls are registered to vote at this address:
38500 N Regis Hall Rd
Old Mill Creek, IL
... which is owned by the Village President of Old Mill Creek.

This same Village President of Old Mill Creek is also registered to vote at that address:
Note to Ops: If you do register to vote at the above address, make sure you maintain a 6 foot social distance at all times. It's the law!

Old Mill Creek Hack

If extreme social distancing is your preference, then Old Mill Creek has your back. The Village of Old Mill Creek website is, for all intents and purposes, an online SEO ad for an out-of-town taxi service.

Does anyone need a taxi in Grand Prairie? As in Alberta? As in Canada?

Fantastic Reasons on Why You Should Hire a Taxi
Some occasion calls for an epic party, and what better way to celebrate than to roll like a Rockstar in the middle of the city? Indulge your guests and give them a party experience they have never experienced before, a party on Wheels! Limousines are good, but a Grande Prairie Taxi is excellent, here's why.
Village of Old Mill Creek
So, the next time you're in Grand Prairie, Alberta, be sure to tell the driver you're from Old Mill Creek. And if you can't remember who to call, use this easy mnemonic:
Think of Grand Theft Auto.
Only instead of Auto, think of Taxi.
And think of Prairie, instead of Theft.
