It Conquered McHenry County

McHenry County has been invaded! According to the McHenryCountyBlog:
What's Independence Day without a parade? Enterprising McHenry County Republicans decided to hold one even the usual blow-out in Crystal Lake was cancelled.
GOP Holds Mini-Parade in Crystal Lake
Does this mean McHenry County has been invaded by the Republican Party? HaHa, of course not, that barn door has been open for years. No, McHenry County has been invaded by outer space aliens.

See the McHenryCountyBlog for the shocking photographic proof:

Space aliens invade McHenry County.

The aliens disguise themselves
to blend in with the locals.

But some can see through the alien trickery.

Does ET make you go tee-hee? You're looking at another hilarious LakeCountyEye Double Vision™!

The McHenry County F-Blog

Note to Ops: This must be serious. There are even protest rallies in McHenry County. And the tireless trackers at the McHenry County Blog are there.

From out of the 100s of surveillance images available, the lede photo on the McHenry County Blog is this one:

Crystal Lake George Floyd Rally
And if you were snoozing (a common hazard experienced by McHenry County Blog readers) there are lots more pictures of that protester to check out:

Make no mistake, competition for Internet Clicks is fierce. And some political blogs will sacrifice honor for riches.

But unlike those other dog-eat-dog blogs, this political blog does not and will never work blue. That's your LakeCountyEye solemn pledge!

McHenry County Befogged

An actual unretouched screencap from McHenry County's #1 fakenews source, the McHenry County Blog:

Message of the Day – Social Distancing
Did the tiredout taxfighters at the McHenry County Blog catch, red-handed, members of the Illinois Congressional delegation flouting social distancing norms?

Judging from those winter coats and knowing Washington DC's subtropical climate, your LakeCountyEye guesses the photo was from around Jan. 4, 2019:

Rep. Cheri Bustos, second from left, joins House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, center, and fellow Illinois Democratic Reps. Robin Kelly, from left, Jan Schakowsky and Lauren Underwood at the Capitol on Jan. 4, 2019. Bustos has fared exceedingly well in Trump country.

Democrats, take note: Rep. Cheri Bustos shows how it's done

Reliable sources tell your LakeCountyEye that political blogsites do not generate any ad revenue unless people are clicking on that blogsite. And that in the case of the McHenry County Blog, tirelessly fighting taxes does not come cheap. No matter how many government pensions one may be living on.

In the way of a mea culpa, your LakeCountyEye admits that it is getting difficult to remember to take the Prevagen pills on a regular basis.

To offset any lost revenues, your LakeCountyEye will post a link to the McHenry County Blog below:

To Whom It May Discern

An actual unretouched screencap from the McHenry County Blog:
Also, take a look at what the tiredout taxfighters at the McHenry County Blog are saying:
Something informed Republican primary voters must assess of the Republican candidates is who can best discern the Underwood record, and discern fact from fiction.

Voters will best gauge how discerning a Republican candidate is when the candidates begin publishing their policy/position statements/papers. The expectation is the position papers is a "deep dive" into an issue facing Congress and challenging the Underwood record with what the voters in the 14th district need, and the approach to achieve the policy goal(s) and objectives.

This article is an example of the kind of discernment the Republican candidates must exhibit in order to qualify to be on the same virtual stage with Underwood from March 18 through November 3, and convince voters the district would be better represented by the Republican nominee instead of the Democratic incumbent.

The topic for discernment is one of Underwood's legislative accomplishments signed into law last month.
One qualified speaker of the English language told your LakeCountyEye: "My Eyes, It Discerns!"

That's all your LakeCountyEye has. Move along, no discernibles here.

Walshing on Eggs

Pop Quiz Alert! Test your knowledge of Newtonian mechanics:
Q:A rooster laid an egg on top of the outhouse. Which way did it roll?
A:Roosters do not lay eggs ... unless you are in McHenry County!
Haha, the McHenryCountyBlog is reporting that banty rooster Joe Walsh laid an egg:
Does this mean the tiredout taxfighters at the McHenryCountyBlog have forgotten already the first thing they were taught in agricultural school?

Or maybe the livestock in McHenry County are declaring themselves gender neutral?

One thing is certain: If someone at the McHenryCountyBlog tells you he is a chicken, be nice and take him at his word. They may need the eggs.

McHenry County Boggled

Has the McHenry County Blog gone vegan?

If not then why are they serving word salad?
What does that mean? No one knows.

Your LakeCountyEye does remember a time when tiredout tax fighters at the McHenry County Blog had nothing to dish out but red meat.

Note to Ops: Good nutrition is essential to cognitive fitness and goes beyond ordering off the senior menu at McDonald's.

McHenry County Blockage

The sunshine bloggers at the McHenryCountyBlog have gone dark.

The McHenryCountyBlog broke news yesterday that State Senator Martin Sandoval was appointed to the Abraham Lincoln Museum Board of Trustees:

Pritzker Appoints Dem State Senator Whose Offices FBI Just Raided
As scandals go, they don't get any bigger.  But don't bother looking for any details -- you will be presented with a 404 Page Not Found Error on the McHenryCountyBlog:

Pritzker Appoints Dem State Senator Whose Offices FBI Just Raided
Fortunately, the real story is posted on the CapitolFaxBlog ...
Um, no
... where it will become painfully apparent that the appointee is a different Martin Sandoval. And that the McHenryCountyBlog got itself confused again.

One thing is crystal clear: It doesn't matter how ill-informed or disoriented the bloggers at the McHenryCountyBlog may have become. The Deep State Bureaucracy is blocking your access to the McHenryCountyBlog!

McHenry County Bonkers

Do you like to think your finger is on the pulse of McHenry County politics? Test your wits against this week's pop quiz:
Q: How many Illinois Representative Districts are there in McHenry County?
If you answered ...
One
then you get your news from the McHenryCountyBlog:
Under the story I wrote on the effect of the U.S. Supreme Court's "hands off" decision of legislative re-mapping, someone said with all Republican representing McHenry County in the Illinois General Assembly McHenry County did well. I beg to disagree. Something over 100,000 people are in each State Rep. district. With over 300,000 residents, that means McHenry County deserves at least two members of the Illinois House. We only have one–Steve Reick.
More Thought on Reapportionment
This assertion by the McHenryCountyBlog (aka the Sunshine Blogger), that McHenry County has only one State Representative District, is flatly untrue.  Not only does McHenry County have 5 (Five) State Rep Districts, but they are all Republican-held:
RepresentativeDistrictParty
David McSweeney52R
Steven Reick63R
Tom Weber64R
Dan Ugaste65R
Allen Skillicorn66R
This would be evident from this map of Illinois State Rep Districts posted on the, erm, McHenryCountyBlog -- in fact, on the very same post that was quoted.

More Thought on Reapportionment
Note to Ops: When factoring in the effects of climate change, the Sunshine Blog is, from a meteorological perspective, the Moonshine Blog.

Down But Not Out

four scores and seven years ago
Can you help Nick Provenzano? No fault of his own, Provenzano lost his job last week:
A staff member in U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren's district office has been fired after a police report surfaced saying the aide was found shirtless inside a car with a teenage boy last October. Dominic "Nick" Provenzano, who's long been active in the Republican Party in McHenry County and served on the County Board, was terminated Monday as deputy district director, a Hultgren spokesman confirmed.
Congressional aide fired after teen says they had sexual encounter in car after meeting on Grindr
Provenzano has been a mainstay with the McHenry County GOP for at least 10 years. This former congressional aide has no doubt a political CV as long as your arm. Your LakeCountyEye cannot provide a resume. But interested parties should see the McHenryCountyBlog, where there are no fewer than 254 posts tagged Nick Provenzano:

To put that another way, the McHenryCountyBlog has zero posts tagged Consensual Sex:

Fakenews Is As Fakenews Does

The LakeCountyGazette may be Lake County's #1 source of fake news.  But it is seeing some stubborn competition from the McHenryCountyBlog.

This is an actual unretouched screenlift from the McHenryCountyBlog:
Today we look at a District 2 County Board candidate promotion sign. It promotes both candidates running against Carolyn Schofield and Josh Howell.

Note that the Mike Madigan-contorlled Illinois Democratic Party paid for the signs.

Signs of a Fall District 2 County Board Campaign
A superficial glance at the yardsign photo reveals that these are not McHenry County Board candidates -- moreover the sign was not paid for by the Mike Madigan-contorlled Illinois Democratic Party:
Point of fact, these are candidates for the Illinois Democratic State Central Committee.  More specifically, they are candidates for the 14th Democratic State Central Committee District -- which covers much of Northern Lake County. The 2nd McHenry County Board District, on the other hand, is almost certainly somewhere in McHenry County.

There are no two ways about it: the Illinois Democratic State Central Committee District 14 and the McHenry County Board District 2 are totally different districts. Totally.

Except, of course, in the fake news.

It's Not Rocket Science

An actual unretouched screencap from the science deniers at the McHenryCountyBlog:

Message of the Day – Global Warming
Government statistics indicate that everyone raised in McHenry County is homeschooled. Those souls are taught to believe that the Earth was created in 6 days, that Evolution is bunk, and that babies are delivered by the Stork. Is it any wonder that an insular population deficient in basic STEM education would find it difficult to grasp principal scientific concepts like climate change?

Well, sure.

Appearances to the contrary, science is not hard to understand. Science can be and is taught at every level, K thru 12. In fact Busy Brains will be hosting the acclaimed Science Road Show on Jan 28, in Lake Villa:

Busy Brains: Beat the Winter Blues

Behind Closed Doors

Far flung Congressman Peter Roskam should be advised not to travel to McHenry County. He could get arrested there by the McHenryCountyBlog.

Roskam (the vestigial Lake County Congressman) was spotted this weekend at a closed-door public meeting in Palatine. Voters not permitted to be in the same room with Roskam assembled outside to protest:
More than 300 people describing themselves as concerned citizens of the 6th District of Illinois demonstrated outside the Palatine Township Republican Organization office early Saturday morning while U.S. Rep. Peter J. Roskam spoke at a meeting inside. The meeting, originally advertised as "free and open to the public," was changed to a "members only" gathering on Feb. 1.
Protesters gather outside GOP meeting attended by Roskam
Over in McHenry County, it is a criminal offense to attend a private meeting. At least according to the McHenryCountyBlog:
Dems Plot in Private in Lincoln Room
Dems Announce Secret Meeting Choices for Office
Dorr Township GOP Leader Tees Off on Democrats' Secrecy
Note to McHenry County Ops: If Peter Roskam does not show up at that meeting he scheduled with you, check your Sheriff's Department, first. He may be in the hoosegow.

Three Sheets to the Wind

There is someone in McHenry County with sticky fingers. According to the tireless trumpsters at the McHenryCountyBlog ...
Went out Monday to get the mail and discovered another Donald Trump for President sign missing. This is the third. I filed another Police Report.
Third Trump Sign Stolen
