The 3rd, self inflicted shooting has gotta be by the Grant Township Assessor's Office.

Seriously, are these people crooked to the core or just so incompetent they can't read and comprehend anything? Nobody is this stupid.

3 lakes in one township all assessed incorrectly (aka fraudulently) for "many, many years"?

"Gee, ooops. My bad. Sorry about that tax payers. I'll get my crayons out and correct my Office's assessments going forward, but only on 1 of the 3 lakes. And then I'll say a small claims judge gave me an opinion to do it, even though state law prevents him from doing so....and I'll ignore my State's Attorney. See, all good now. Please disperse."

Not just Grant. A neighboring township to the east lost its taxing bodies over $600K because of bad assessments and lost appeals. You know that loss will be passed on to us.
